Armor
Aside from Wooden Shields, Armor can only be crafted and not bought.
Crafted Armor has different properties from other armor in that instead of increasing defense, it reduces damage when a person wearing it is hit. There are 3 tiers of armor with each having greater power of absorption. Tier 1 is the weakest and only has one piece of armor (the Rockodile Breastplate), while tiers 2 & 3 each have 3 pieces in the set, with Tier 3 (Iron Armor) offering the most protection. When an entire set of armor is worn, the most damage reduction is achieved with each piece having different damage reduction percentages that are additive with pieces:
Tier 1 Rockodile Armor
Rockodile Breastplate is the most basic piece of crafted armor. It reduces the percentage of damage less than 10%. Tests and observation of the amount of reduction estimate the amount to as low as 7% but usually higher, 8%.
Tier 2 Bronze Armor
Bronze Helmet: like other helmets, the bronze helmet reduces least amount of damage for items in its tier. Estimates are around %2 to 3%. Bronze Shield: The bronze shield reduces damage a moderate amount. Tests approximate it reduces about 4–5% of damage. Bronze Breastplate: The estimates of damage reduction of the Bronze Breastplate is around 10%.
Bronze Armor as a whole has been estimated to reduce damage by around 17%–18%.
Tier 3 Iron Armor
Iron Helmet: Estimate of the iron helmet’s damage reduction percentage are around 4% to 6%. Iron Shield: The Iron Shield effectively reduces damage done by about 7% Iron Breastplate: With the strongest single item amount of damage reduction of about 12% to 13%, the Iron Breastplate is highly sought after due to its potentially life saving amount of protection.
Damaged Armor
Upon absorbing damage, has a chance or getting damaged. When a piece of armor is damaged,a metallic clang will sound, and a sidear message will display:
•Your <armor piece> looks less effective.
This indicates that your armor’s quality has deteriorated by one level. Armor has several level of wear that can be checked by using the /examine <item name> command. after typing in /examine <item> your sidebar will display a message indicating its wear level.
Armor Wear Levels
When an item is undamaged, the Sidebar message will show:
•This <item name> is in nearly perfect condition.
Each wear message will indicate how close the item is to permanently breaking.
The final message before further damage will break the damaged item is:
•Your <item name> looks like it will fall apart any day now.
Repairing Armor
At any level below nearly perfect, your amor can be repaired by a Blacksmith.
Repairs cost varying amount based on how many level of wear need to be repaired. Items are always repaired completely, and the costs are associated with the amount of supplies a blacksmith must buy to repair armor. However, not all Blacksmiths are equal. Blacksmiths with more training in the art, need less in supplies to repair armor.
Even among the best blacksmiths, repairs can cost close to 1000 coins if an item is close to breaking and is a higher tier and absorbs more damage.
Only, Rockodile Armor cannot be repair before breakage.
