Please let me know what you'd like information on. Also, if you want to add info to the manual, I'm looking for contributors.

Inu writes: How about moving the Appendices to the bottom of the TOC instead of being in chapter 2 or is this going to break a lot?

Where it goes...[edit]

I put the index first with other things below it, so, it really belongs with the index as a section 2.x.

New Pages[edit]

I think that We should discuss reorganizing the CLUMP's Appendicies into a more orderly fashion. For instance the dance commands doesn't have to link off the main page, it could just as easily link off the macros page.

Also, if you're writing something and know there's an entry pertaining to it in the CLUMP see if you can fit it in there logically instead of creating a new page, unless the subject matter is pretty hefty, and deserves its own page. For instance Toggling deserves its own page AND it should probably be under the Basics. I'd like to take all the 30-50 some pages and reorganize them and give some of them a direct link from the main page while removing others that are really subtopics. The reason being is that it's getting overwhelming to come here and see all these pages. It makes the game look overly complex, when it's not that, it's just a collection of stuff passed on orally for years. Anyway, think about it and e-mail me here, or let's we can discuss this over Coffee & Donuts at the Sentinel. (Reflecting this on the Sentinel.) --noivad 00:28, 21 June 2007 (PDT)

In anticipation of the reorganization, I have created a true Index page following the format found in books. It is not linked in. --User:Inu 14:03, 21 June 2007 (EDT)

Making Links[edit]

Also, if you're writing content about, say Sunstone wear and mention that Karma has a factor, but you don't know or don't have time or energy ot link it, could you please write in {link} right after the word or phrase that needs to be linked too? I'll go through the pages and do a search for "{link}" and drop in the appropriate link. If it's an external site just write the partial url like thid doggies.com {link} and I'll come by and clean it up for you. --00:28, 21 June 2007 (PDT)

Vandals[edit]

Inu: Why not protect all pages so that only members of a specified group can edit? Can media wiki support groups and protection like that?

Inu: I have researched it, and apparently this cannot be done without granting god like access to those in the group. That is a shame. From what I could see all you can do is require the users be logged in before they make a change. Perhaps instead reverting back to manual account creation will work. There doesn't seem to be a large population interested in editing this work anyway, so it might be feasible to just manage users accounts manually, and not allow automatic account creation.

This is a major shortcoming of MediaWiki. I'd like to not have to go to manual account creation and it's very easy to roll back pages. If this starts happening every day, then I might just lock out account creation altogether, or switch to yet another wiki, though I like this one a lot. It's a real shame people find it gratifying to destroy others' work. --noivad 11:09, 17 April 2007 (PDT)

Nerfs appendix[edit]

Inu asks: Would it be bad form to post the nerfs made in an appendix. I was thinking the intent is to warn new players (and maybe oldies who didn't know) about changes made that impact various aspects of the game and/or their character's profession.

Yes it would be. We want current information, if someone mentions "oh BTW this used be different" in their content then that's fine, but we strive to be up to date so we don't confuse new players. If an old player comes back and wants to see how things have changed they can simply read up on the topic. A separate page would be extraneous, confusing and bad form. --noivad 13:28, 21 June 2007 (PDT)

Rename the "index" section[edit]

I think renaming the section entitled "index" on the main page to something like "Main Topics" or "Chapters" would help to eliminate some confusion, make more sense, and allow the new books style index to be linked in easier. --Inu 06:53, 22 June 2007 (PDT)

Quick Links[edit]

Should this be alphabetical, save the Index. Example:
Quick Links to CLUMP Content
10 Things for Newbies | Basic Game Mechanics | Coins | Creatures | Fighting | Healing | Group Hunting | Tactics | Index

I think the Quick Links addition is is great btw. --Inu 13:51, 22 June 2007 (PDT)

Reorg ready to be implemented.[edit]

I finished copying the content that would be lost from the main page when the new one that Torin made is implemented. So basically, we are ready to go.

Noivad, can you rename the existing main_page to oldMain_Page? If so then can you also make Torin's mockup the new main page? If not, then let me know and I will create the oldMain_Page and move the current main page content to that and bring in Torin's changes. --Inu 14:17, 22 June 2007 (PDT)

Now with more pictures[edit]

I'm adding pictures as I get them because the content is pretty dry. I thought Naferu's yell was a funny one to add. --noivad 23:08, 2 December 2007 (PST)

To add a picture edit a page and click on the picture frame, then type the name if you want the picture to be left or right wrapped type |right or |left right after the picture name. Then save it, and click on the link to choose which picture to upload.

Changing more bold sections into linkable sections[edit]

I am changing glossary and other pages to change the bolded items into linkable sections. This is more user friendly, so that when a new/oldbie stops by, they won't have to 'search' to find out what something means. So far has hit S and a couple of other pages. --Inu 11:19, 26 January 2009 (PST)

That's fine if you want to do the work I won't object. --noivad 13:46, 26 January 2009 (PST)
